East Broad Top Railroad: A Personal Photographic Study

Catalog Number: JVH
East Broad Top Railroad: A Personal Photographic Study by John Van Horn (Volume 2)(2016). John Van Horn, a long time fan of the EBT, has authored a photographic essay of the EBT after 1970. Here's what John says about his book:

This photographic study of the East Broad Top is just that: a study, not a historical document nor a then-and-now essay, but rather what caught my eye as a photographer, and as a railfan, that I found most visually interesting.

The study deals with the two largest facilities on the EBT. I first photographed the Mount Union yard in 1970, when the original structures were still in place. I returned more recently on a number of occasions, when only the tracks, the engine house and some hopper cars remained, along with some more modern rolling stock stored there. Rockhill Furnace, with its rail yard, shops and roundhouse, is still mostly intact, thanks in part to the work of the Friends of the EBT and the stewardship of the Kovalchick family.

The 8.5 x 11-inch, soft-cover book has 112 pages of black and white photos.
